If I could plan a piece before painting it,I would.
If I could structure it in my mind, detailing forms,lines and colours,I would.
But my pieces are impromptu expressions;an unplanned brushstroke spawning a thousand more,
line after line,
light complimenting shade,
until a painting finally realises it's longing to be born.
This is so relevant, anywhere from a modular kitchen to the one depicted here. This takes me back to my memories of watching my grandmother and Ma sharing, cooking and gossiping... that's like two generations of stories and the interpretations of the next generations that follow. That's a private museum or a library right there...
